Mayor applauds lifesaving donation to Chitungwiza Hospital

Her Worship, Mayor Rosaria Mangoma has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Australia-based couple Mr Munyaradzi and Mrs Daisy Mugari for their generous donation of walking and toilet aids to Chitungwiza Central Hospital.

The donation—comprising four-wheeled walkers (rollators) and walking frames—was delivered through Mr Mugari’s father-in-law, Mr Corias Kurai Masuta.

This contribution came after the family reached out to Mayor Mangoma, Acting Human Resources Manager Ms Rudo Murungu, and Social Welfare Officer Mr Aaron Mhonyera last week.

“We are proud of our children. This is not the first time they’ve shown such generosity. On 13 October 2023, they donated similar equipment in Chikomba District. Help me to pray for them,” said Mr Masuta.

Mrs Masuta added, “Their sacrifice is an act of love, meant to help those in need.”

Mayor Mangoma commended the Mugari family and Mr Masuta for their kind gesture.

“Let me thank you, Mr Masuta, for agreeing to deliver this donation to Chitungwiza. I also want to appreciate the hospital management for accepting the donation without focusing on its size but rather on the impact it will have,” she said.

“These items will go a long way in assisting road traffic accident victims and patients suffering from various health conditions. We are especially grateful that Mr Mugari, who once lived in Chitungwiza, has remembered his roots and chosen to give back to the community.”

Acting Town Clerk Mr Japson Nemuseso also commended the donation, saying it makes a meaningful difference in the hospital’s ability to support patients requiring mobility assistance.
