
Chitungwiza Junior Council was honoured to participate at the National Fire Week Indaba on Thursday at Rainbow Towers, where stakeholders convened to review and strengthen Zimbabwe’s national fire management strategy.
The high-level engagement brought together representatives from government ministries, the police, the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Environment, Climate and Wildlife, Senator Chiefs, parastatals, junior parliamentarians, and the private sector.
Officially launching the 2025 National Fire Awareness Week, Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife, Hon. Dr Evelyn Ndlovu, stressed the urgent need to combat veld fires, rallying the nation under the theme “Prevent Veld Fires – Protect Our Environment.”
