Chitungwiza mayor Councillor Rosaria Mangoma says there are a lot of investment opportunities in Chitungwiza, calling upon investors to invest in the town.
Her Worship Cllr. Mangoma was speaking at the official opening of the Chitungwiza Trade Fair at Makoni Shopping Centre last week.
“This day is a historic moment for an exhibition that began in humble circumstances. The expo, which began in 2012 with five exhibitors, has developed into an annual event. The event organised by the Chitungwiza Publicity Association serves as a testimony to investors that Chitungwiza is open for investment,” she said.
“There are numerous investment prospects in waste management, renewable energy, and public transport, among others. This invitation extends to even local investors,”
“We encourage any interested investors to come and make general investments, and we are open to public-private partnerships. We anticipate that investments will transform Chitungwiza into a Smart Heritage City by 2030.”
Mayor Mangoma said that a lot of investors had already shown interest in investing in the town.
“Let me use this opportunity to mention that a number of investors, including locals, have already expressed an interest in transforming Chitungwiza into a smart city,”
“Wistmer, a local investor, is already in town working on many projects. Working with ZINWA, the investor hopes to increase water delivery in Chitungwiza to meet demand of 75 megalitres per day,”
“The investor also wants to transform our marketplaces into world-class ones. As we discussed how we would make the June master plan deadline, the investor offered to do so as a donation to Chitungwiza.
Harare Metropolitan Province Minister Hon. Senator Charles Tawengwa said that he was impressed by the representation at the trade fair that, “brought the brightest minds together.”
“It (trade fair) presents a vibrant confluence of innovation, expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit, the very forces that shape a thriving economy. Various small, medium, and large corporations have come aboard through time, fueled by the growth of the town’s population,” he said.
“This collaboration will definitely have a positive impact on the attainment of the Vision 2030 of a prosperous and empowered Upper-Middle Income society.”
