Chitungwiza Mayor Councillor Rosaria Mangoma has officially commissioned a new Early Childhood Development (ECD) ablution block at the council’s Ndangariro Primary School, in Zengeza East Constituency.
The facility was constructed through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) by the area’s Member of Parliament, Honourable Goodrich Chimbaira.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Mangoma commended the MP for investing in community infrastructure and working hand-in-hand with the municipality to improve service delivery.
“We are pleased to have Members of Parliament who come back to the people and complement the council’s efforts. This is how we build our city together,” said Mangoma.

MP Chimbaira said the initiative was a response to a request from the school’s School Development Committee (SDC).
“I want to thank the CDF committee and the SDC. I never thought this would happen. We’ve worked well with the school staff. I also want to thank the Mayor and the councillors—particularly Ward (13) Councillor Gylord Chenjera, who always responds to the needs of his ward,” said Chimbaira.
Schools Inspector Mr Isaac Kureva, representing the District Schools Inspector, welcomed the development, saying it directly addressed one of the Ministry’s key recommendations for the school: improved toilet facilities.
“This toilet block improves accessibility, which is an essential component of the education system. We hope this will help boost enrolment from the current 1,300 learners. This facility is inclusive and specifically designed for ECD learners,” he said.
Kureva urged the school to maintain the facility in good condition.
“When the MP returns after 10 years, we want this toilet block to still be standing and functional,” he said.
Ndangariro Primary School Head, Mr Godfrey Noah, also expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and said the new ablution block marks a major milestone in the school’s development.
